“I became a golf professional after teaching school for a few years. Early on, I read everything there was to read about golf and attended many golf educational seminars. You can read books and think you know golf. You play the game and you think you know golf. Along the way, you meet golf professionals that provide the tools to truly “understand” the game. Bill Moretti, a PGA member from Austin, Texas, had the most impact on my teaching style when he suggested I become a better listener and then I would become a better teacher.
Today, I talk less and simplify my lessons.
“Confidence is the most important single factor in this game, and no matter how great your natural talent, there is only one way to obtain and sustain it: work.” – Jack Nicklaus
